Aloha, dear friends, we are meeting in the Earth Send.
I’m putting myself in the Circle today. I have new pains over my eye and in my foot and find myself in a deficit… of energy and wit. My week was okay, I just felt that I had to give up time for self-repair, and these are the consequences of it.
Alright, alright, I did see something I wish I didn’t have to face, which explains the pain over the eye, and I will have to make a decision about it, which does affect my next steps — that’s what the pain in the soles is about. The body can give us clues about what is going on. Pain is also a sign of blockages and of dread. I do experience dread over a decision that has to be made, because someone has to be the adult in the room. Guess who that will be. It’s not about parenting, though it’s a thankless job, too. I hesitate, as I have no strategy yet. However I pull it off, I can already forget about approval. So that’s that. I appreciate your reiki and good thoughts with me.
As always on Fridays, we are letting reiki flow through all creativity tools brought to session:
A – your gratitude container, B – your Gallery of Mudita (collections of elders and teachers you look up to), C – action list / vision board…
Now that we have arrived in a season of spring cleaning and getting ready for spring, use this time to bring ease, lightness, and organisation into the rooms you work and live in and to purify body and mind. In nature, there are signs of ice thawing, of bird migrations, of scents of buds and spring messengers, and of a brand new year of sowing, growing and harvesting, metaphorically and literally, ahead of us. It’s good to prep for spring, the season of transformation, beauty, renewal and more activity… If your day is wintery, still, know that it’s only 28 days until spring: change is around the corner.
After my last dental cleaning a few days ago, my mouth felt so sparkling and alive that I imagined how that feeling would translate to space. I’m going for it!

Have your numbers shifted up or down?
The aim is not to score all 9s and 10s. More power to you, if you do! The aim is to check in and notice what needs more attention and where things are going well. Don’t worry about the whys or hows (in other words, how to improve), simply notice what is .. in the now, including the minus 4 you gave yourself in one area. Using numbers is shorthand for the life that you know can be yours.
You may be surprised to learn that I wasn’t raised in a culture that valued how anyone felt or gave much thought to well-being at all. Once I came into my teens, I noticed more interest in self-reflecting, deep and creative people whom I befriended, and that I enjoyed psychological topics and introspection a lot. First, I was amazed that people talked about it at all. Then I realized, “Oh, they too love to talk about these topics and wonder about what is moving them and why and ponder what is true and sustainable. I’m not the only one. Wow!” So here is one reason why I came to meditation early. (The other reasons were less friendly.)
Although I didn’t have those imprints or customs, I wasn’t exactly isolated or socially awkward. On the contrary, on the go often, the first to jump on the dance floor and start the party. I know it sounds crazy, but that was me at 10 all the way to 30. (Ha ha. I wasn’t as confident about other stuff, but when the music was on, find me on the dance floor.) I had a large network, I was curious about people and what they were going through, and when I couldn’t speak, because I didn’t feel that there was enough receptivity for what I had to say, I listened. People like to talk about themselves, and countless people have told me secrets they had never shared before. Still, my close friends all the way to young adulthood were compatible and similar: chatty, but chatty about topics! And thinking about how they could make a difference and use what they had to live in a conscious way.
I mention it, because you may be unfamiliar with checking in with yourself, but once you bring attention to yourself like that, you’ll begin to appreciate it.
Further, bring your attention to your feet and your relationship to the soil under your feet. How well do you know your corner, your soil? What have you learned from the soil? Do you feel connected with those who walked or grew food here before? Acknowledge the land and your watershed in a warm, heartfelt way. Thank it for being your home, for providing the water you consume, and for being your teacher. This student (you) is ready to learn more.
May our Circle be safe from suffering and harm and free to become a shiny expression of respect and of blossoming with love and inspiration.
May your weekend charge your batteries. I won’t dwell on solving the issue I mentioned. I’m allowing pain to leave me now. I’ll spend the evening in this Circle and chanting. Perhaps I wake up with an idea.
May all beings be at ease. May all beings be joyous. May all beings be safe.
In gassho, I humbly receive.
