Four teenagers in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan have decided to be proactive about the healing in their own community, and proposed a project called Sober House to City Council. They were met with enthusiastic support. 6 communities in the province of Saskatchewan have already adopted the Sober House Project. May many more follow.
Thanks to Ayla, Camren, Linden and Paywapin for leading this initiative! I wish them all the success that they deserve.
In class, they read Harold Johnson’s Firewater: How Alcohol Is Killing My People (And Yours) that I featured in my post New Sobriety Movements at https://nandajurela.com/2020/11/02/new-sobriety-movements/ , and they were moved to action.
I am rooting for these kids! They are the 7th fire indeed.
