Welcome to Earth Send, our light grid on earth, where we meet to broadcast good thoughts, gratitude and our growing connection with all life on Earth. Every Friday is a time to align with the well-being of all life, your own co-creative process, our higher selves, and universal life energy.
Focus for Today: Directing Good Thoughts to Receptive Recipients, Heart-Linking With Purpose and With Each Other
Aloha, co-meditators and fellow reiki co-practitioners. Today is the first Friday after Equinox, the first Friday of the new season, spring in the global north, autumn in the south. In Ontario, the growing season is in full swing by now: house plants and seedlings are telling us by their growth spurts what the land is going to reveal in no time.
If you don’t think of yourself as a gardener, consider growing something in 2025 that you like to consume or look at. You will connect with the season and its delicate metamorphoses, with your locality, and with your zest for life. Growing edibles and condiments and growing just for fun is a smart skill to hone in our time, as grocery prices soar and country leaders have distanced themselves from nonviolent communication as far as they possibly could.
I welcome our new meditators who are curious about a more conscious lifestyle and reiki. Please participate in as many of the suggested practices as you can to draw maximum benefit from the gathering. I also welcome our seasoned reiki practitioners and Earth Send participants to bring your special touch, your know-how, and your sense of wonder to this session.
History: Heading Toward 20 Years
Anniversary: 25 June 2025
In only three months, we are celebrating two decades of Earth Send—a project that has blossomed with goodwill, love and the collective energy of us all who walked together steadily or just for a while. As we approach our 20th anniversary, I am filled with gratitude for you, our group, whose participation has kept this effort booming, memorable and fruitful.
Life has changed us in ways we could not have fathomed before. Some of us have turned to social activism, to entrepreneurial business, to simplified lifestyles, to a plant-based diet, to fitness, to concentric and contagious creativity, to indigenous land and water management, permaculture, biodynamic or lunar gardening, while others have become caregivers to aging parents and family members with special needs, and others have shifted to education, research, teaching, travel, and financial grounding. I too have returned to my core purpose in a new way. In the last months, life has demanded a lot from me and a major restructuring, too. The Earth Send is a big part of my heart’s calling, so I promise to be more regular with my invitation essays than I have been lately.
Please carve out time for meditation, proactive healing and connection on Fridays, when we gather on the inner planes, take stock of our manifestation processes and reset our compass again.
Tool Kit: Beneficial Practices for Earth Send
Join with ease and cumulative rewards with our trusty practices:
❁ Pick Your Sacred Space:
In your home, designate a place that is for inner work and meditation, your sanctuary for restoration, recalibration and re-inspiration.
In the summer, Earth Sends can be a thrill outdoors, perhaps at a tucked-away site that is refreshing or even sacred to you. In cooler months, it helps to centre at a spot that you claimed for your own renewal. There, you want to be able to relax the body and keep the mind alert. Keep it clutter-free. Keep it simple, and your decor on rotation, until you are sure about the feeling you’d like to anchor.
Many meditation places tend to be a tad overdone. Feng Shui recommends energy flow and spaciousness for health and the integration of learning and doing. It is better to err on the side of less instead of more and of subtle instead of overwhelming. This guideline is economical and more calming, too, than wild decor that you might outgrow in 2 years.
❁ Land and Watershed Acknowledgement:
Connect with the land around you and under your feet. Who are the people who took care of it before you? What would they be teaching about your corner of the earth? What could they be teaching you?
What animals are you noticing? Could some be your messenger or totem animals?
How well do you know your watershed? What could your local waterways be showing you?
If you have no clue and noone to ask, consult a librarian. Investigate. Conventional learning can open the door to more awareness about what is going on with the water and the soil, and set observations in motion. Once you understand what you can observe, you begin to notice health and repair, patterns and fluctuations in your environment, and over time, you become perceptive, at home at your place, and reciprocal with it.
❁ Reiki Rules:
Just for today, I will
not worry,
not anger,
be grateful for all the blessings in my life,
work honestly,
honour my teachers and elders.
❁ Inner Smile / Body Scan:
Swallow your Inner Smile into your throat, let it swirl around your neck and move it into your heart. From your heart, move it through all your organs, then your legs, feet and toes, arms, hands and fingertips. Move it back into your heart again. Go up to your throat, then into your mouth, the frontal skull cavities, over your nose, cheeks, jaw, ears and eyes, to your brain. Let your Inner Smile brush all over your head and hair roots. Place it on your crown and leave it there for a while. Let your smile beam into any tension, sluggishness and not-so-smooth energies. Imagine how your Inner Smile touches, relaxes and clears every piece of you.
It is good to practise the Inner Smile (or an alternative body scan) regularly, at the pace that you find most comfortable.
❁ Bird’s Eye View:
Imagine going upward from where you are now, through the roof of the building or house you are in, so high that you can see your neighbourhood and you as a dot in it. What words of comfort, coaching and encouragement can you give your small self on the ground? Can you identify and name the next best step for the person below?
Share that. Write it down, once you can.
❁ Solarized Water:
Charge your water in a glass with sunlight, and drink it. Universal clear glass is the best. Play with coloured glass to turn up a select frequency. Never use plastic for solarizing your water.
❁ Island of Self:
The Island of Self, as Buddha taught it, is a place of mild to warm weather. Where he would have traveled are hardiness zones above 6, and sweepingly above 9, and when we hear island, we don’t exactly think of some windswept, stormy or icy winter on a landmass in the sea, but of a peaceful, scrumptious, fragrant, restorative and subtly enhanced oasis. As the weather is warming up, collect impressions of what you want your Island of Self to offer. Sunlight, flowers, forests, herbs, fruits, vegetables, the sounds of water, insects and birds, and other features that are refreshing and unique to you. The more detail, the better.
Springtime raises our appreciation for the return of abundance in nature, while fall—for you, in the southern hemisphere— is the peak of harvest and wealth, so both seasons are excellent times to store up ambiental elements for your Island of Self.
❁ Self-Quiz:
Be ready for a list of questions in the coming weeks to grade yourself for how you are doing.
On this day, ask yourself: what were the feel-good moments of the last two weeks? What good news and lucky synchronicities do I want to celebrate?
Do celebrate every improvement, every step closer to your goal, and everything good!
When you have completed a challenging task, reward yourself with a little something. It doesn’t have to be an extremely precious and costly gift; it has to be something that pleases you. If you do like gifts and gifts are your love language, take an item off your wish list. That is more durable in its impact on you and more sustainable than a random thing that you will have to get rid off soon.
Receiving what you truly want, have thought about and have space for is sublimely self-affirming and galvanizing. It normalizes receiving, receiving a treat that you appreciate and have waited for.
Experiences are grand, memory-making rewards, by the way.
❁ Creative Crosspollination:
Bring your three creativity tools – gratitude container, Gallery of Mudita, and vision map – or their portable and updatable versions, to this reiki send. Reiki will flow through our projects and gratitude and the bright ideas that we download in this session.
I have explained the ins and outs of how to make and refine those three creativity tools. I plan to put the info in one place, so you can look it up again or look it up for the first time.
Creativity tools are ideally handmade or handwritten, and allow for modifications, as we get to comprehend ourselves and what our wishes represent on a deep level and what we are aspiring to express. The combination of the three manifestation tools is profound, powerful and profuse.
Other boosters can be added. In fact, the better you adapt equipment to the procedures that are working for you, the more satisfying your yield and learning curves are.
❁ Stay In the Morphic Field of Well-Being
for as long as it feels good to you.
