Earth Send On the First Equinox In 2026

“That which is nurtured will grow, then blossom”. Maori saying

Welcome to Earth Send

every Friday, in your time zone, at the time you select

since 2005, and ongoing

Happy Vernal Equinox — to us in the North. Happy first day of fall — if you are in the Southern hemisphere. Happy Day of Balance. Happy Friday. May this season surprise you with lucky synchronicities and wonder. May whatever is missing to a fully satisfying or balanced life find its way to you. May your vision boards manifest; may your action lists turn into tomorrow’s routine.

Completing the creative process and coming full circle with it (again and again) is fun, isn’t it? We’ve learned so much about what works and what may need another attempt, or modified approach, or a revision. If gardening, parenting or personal growth teach anything, it’s that we don’t have to draft or grasp the whole journey ahead, it’s enough to make the next best step and take another best step on the day after. We grow what we feed. If travel teaches us anything, it’s that motion brings us closer to our destinations and not a sizable collection of roadmaps. We get to know a place by being there, by exploring the terrain. So bring your goodwill, your follow-through, and seize the day.

𓆸

On this day, we renew our will to live by the reiki precepts. Just for today, we do not anger, we do not worry, we are grateful to all our life’s blessings, we work with integrity, and we honour our elders and teachers.

Before the meditation, let’s go through our self-care customs:

Inner Smile

Relax your jaw, breathe deeply, feel the corners of your mouth go up and your lips stretch into a smile. Swallow this smile into your throat, then into your solar plexus, then into your navel. Hold it there until you feel your navel warm up.

Then move your inner smile, in a clockwise motion spreading out like a spiral, over your belly area, abdomen, ribs, hips. If in spots the spiral doesn’t move smoothly, notice it, and brush over it with a softened touch. Feel the feeling of being smiled at from within.

Now move your inner smile in long 8-shaped strokes down both of your legs, around every toe, the back of your feet and over your souls, and from your souls up, let it travel up in the same elongated 8-shaped paths back to your navel. At this resting spot, hold it for a moment, until you feel more warmth and relaxation.

Then move your inner smile to your heart, and from your heart over your chest in 8-shaped strokes along your arms. Repeat that until you are aware of the flow in both arms. Move your smile to your wrists into your palms, where you can hold it for a second or two, until your palms feel like they are smiling, too. Then move your inner smile along every finger. Perhaps you notice more sensation in your fingertips, blood flow or warmth. Hold it for a moment or two.

Then move the inner smile back into your chest area. From there, move it up into your throat, over your neck, into your skull, and in a mist-like drift over your forehead, eyes, cheeks, sinuses toward your chin, along both sides of the jaw and both ears. From your ears, move the inner smile over your eyebrows inward, to your third eye, and hold it there for a moment, until you feel your third eye lit up by a smile.

Then move the smile down the nasal bridge to the tip of the nose, hold it there briefly and let it arrive on your lips again.

If while moving your inner smile through your body, you felt any resistance, less sensation, or more throbbing and intensity, notice it, yet soften your brushing motion and move your inner smile through delicately.

Offer your inner smile to your surroundings.

Offer your inner smile to the soil under your feet, to your watershed, and to the sky above you.

Offer your inner smile to your Island of Self. As the season is warming up and generating more greenery, attracting birds and pollinators to the greenery, we’ll be collecting sensual impressions of our personal Island of Self. If you are in the Southern hemisphere, the landscape is still at peak fertility, so the images, scents, sounds and breeze outdoors can serve well as components of your Island of Self. Store them in your memory.

Self-Check-In

“Well-being is attained little by little, and nevertheless is no little thing itself.” – Zeno of Citium

Grade yourself from 1-10 in regards to

  • health:

exercice, sleep, water intake, food quality and quantity, nutritional supplements, sobriety, medical visits

  • mental health:

self-efficacy, emotional regulation, foresight, proactivity, mindfulness, gratitude, contentment, filling your cup

  • work satisfaction:

alignment, work culture, hours, income, influence, advancement

  • residence satisfaction:

with your home, property, area code, municipality, network, prospects

  • creativity:

progress, skill development, joy, purpose, peer formation, promotion

  • red tape upkeep:

of documents like IDs, passport, business and vehicle registrations, of filed taxes

Let the numbers be what they are. Notice what went up, what went down, what stayed the same.

What’s Good?

Years ago, I borrowed that greeting; it was a smooth intro to a conversation about good things. Most people paused, as the question was a tad unexpected, before they replied with a more awake facial expression and original, quite astonishing answers. (Be free to borrow the question for your encounters!)

Now the encounter is with yourself. So ask yourself

“What’s good in my life now?

What resonated a lot just recently?

What makes me feel grateful? What makes me feel appreciation?

What’s great?”

𓆸

Put It In Writing.

Take 10-15 minutes to write down the impressions and meaningful clues that you want to keep.

If nothing came to mind, nothing stood out or felt worth capturing, sit in the silence and support the Circle that is present today. Often, the verbal lags behind what you’ve been shown. By giving yourself a few extra minutes to let impressions settle, you might discover something that you want jot down after all.

𓆸

Intention For Today’s Circle

Before we enter a state of deeper quiet and receptivity, it’s helpful to formulate an intention for this session.

A few ideas:

“As I sow, I shall reap.”

“I dedicate this session to the enlightenment of all beings.”

“For the highest good of all and for my highest good.”

“I allow love to pour into me.”

𓆸

Now, get ready to enter meditation for the well-being of all life. Linger in there for as long as it feels good. Reiki is being sent to all participants’ (three) creativity tools and to everyone who requested it. All practitioners send reiki, while meditators who don’t practice reiki (yet?) can support the Circle by broadcasting blessing thoughts.

𓆸

If images, words, insights, and marvelous ideas come to you as you sit, decide that you’ll write them down once you’re done. The writing will conclude the session in a soothing and round way. Let your notes be what they are for today.

If you’ve received guidance on a topic you asked for more clarity on, or an impulse that has moved you, or a mighty brilliant idea, take it into your tomorrow. You’ll be able to pursue it and flesh it out soon.

Writing down clues and cues is allowing your awareness of what would be especially healing to come forward.

Even if you leave your words untouched, by writing down what is being offered, flashes of clarity or your intuition’s code-speak, you condition yourself to paying attention (to wisdom!). What we touch with our hands and palms, feels real and shapeable. What we write up with the dominant hand can be a powerful start of something that wants to emerge.

𓆸

Why Write By Hand? Why not type into a gadget, why not let everything pass by inside the mind instead?

Typing into a gadget is better than nothing, of course. However, it’s less tactile, less emotional and more detached, business-like or judgy. We’re trying to access the right-brained, dreamy plane. For men, it is their feminine side, a highly creative plane; for women, it’s our power! So use pen and paper first — if you can.

Meditations without pen and paper are fine. But we remain a tad more passive, in an observer’s role, when we could be initiators. Writing, or drawing, by hand is key — if you want to tap into inspiration, wisdom, answers. So I champion writing… after sitting.

This month, I heard the call from within to return to writing by hand more… and to even sacrifice some time that I spend consuming other people’s words, content, mind products and concepts. I mostly consume for a purpose, yet I was reminded that most forms of consuming do distance us from what is germinating within. The choice between strengthening my own ability to download and act on inspired thought over listening to something without should be a no-brainer.

Why involve creativity tools in a group reiki session? Why not just relax?

You can relax. If your body and mind need a pause from the same ol’, same ol’, you’ll give yourself that.

At this time, we are all affected by the chaos in the news cycle. It’s more important than ever to bring the focus back to ourselves and to our own goals and to claim our ability to change what we can.

If you are an activist, as many of us are, a  practice that is centering and takes us out of reactive patterns is nourishing and immensely refreshing. Picking and harvesting elegant, wondrous solutions from the subtle realm, downloading holistic and wholesome ideas can restore sanity, keep us safe and engaged in skillful and ingenious ways. I don’t have to emphasize that safety and self-preservation are desirable at such a toxic moment in history.

The assignment of learning about local resources that combat human trafficking is still on. The Epstein Files have shown us that nightmares are real and have escaped scrutiny for 30, 40 years. If such exposures don’t elicit appropriate consequences, we have to be the helpers, educators and protectors of the next wave of targets.

If you are boycotting companies that profit from war, know that you can do it in an imperfect way and keep it to yourself. The enemies of decency and compassion are armed, remorseless and incapable of self-control, so be clear-eyed and pragmatic about the disrespectful and insane. This too shall pass.

In gassho. I humbly receive.
