I am afraid to state that most men mature only when they are being denied love, that only the pain over the pain they have caused, or the pain of having been thrown into a situation they have to navigate on their own – for a substantial time – will make them into adults.
Women don’t mature at all when denied love; since the majority of women are born with a bit of introspection. However, a period without approval may be a good thing for women. Letting go of the need to be liked is very liberating and much better than we have been told. This is not where “maturity” happens, but where confidence and many miracles happen.
I have watched a lot of people from many cultures since I was a kid. There is a pattern here.
