Welcome to this week’s Earth Send, welcome to our meditation for the well-being of all life on earth. Welcome to our newcomers, to our occasional co-creators and participants and to all our seasoned members. Welcome to a new chance to augment and guerdon unity, sanity and harmony in our homes, city, our municipality, our state, our continent and our earth.

All requests for good vibes and good thoughts for a recovery, a daunting process, the completion of one chapter, the start of a brand new chapter, a family reunion, the renewal of vows and other fortunate events are being handled today. May love and benevolent support surround you for as long as you can stand. To those in grief, may subtle protection be around you and help you move on.

All reiki requests are being responded to today, too. Reiki is on the way to you today and regularly this week.

Let us recall the reiki precepts. Just for today, we choose to liberate ourselves of anger and anxieties, to be sincere in our work and our inner work, to recall with love all who brought us up, who loved us and who turned us into lifelong learners, good observers, powerful creators, manifestors and protectors. Let us give thanks to all our blessings, especially those we take for granted, like the roof over our heads, the places we store the things we use, the bed we sleep and dream in, running water from the tap, the soil that feeds us, the company of reliable and lovely friends, the libraries and the educational and cultural centres that we have access to, the inspirations available to us through role models, downloads, deep thought and delight. Let us not forget the foundations of unity, sanity and harmony that we have already laid in our day to day lives and that serve as reminders of a higher quality of life, of the possibility of evolving despite obstacles, of effort and hours well-spent and of sturdy wellness.

It is easy to spend hours in gratitude now that daylight is so long, as we approach the solstice. The mornings start with bird concerts, the air is scented, it is easy to get up and greet the day with a smile in your belly and on your face.

If you are joining from the global south, you may have the opposite, cozy experience of slowing down and making use of the year’s most yin atmosphere. I notice that my friends in Australia and South America love taking out their crystals for moon baths at this time of the year.

Here, in the global North, vegetation at its most vigorous growth, many of the cool weather vegetables and berries have been harvested and savoured, and the second wave of vegetables, herbs, flowers and shrub berries that thrive in the warmth are drawing attention to themselves. This morning, a garden bed in my sun garden (the “sun garden” is named after the direct sunlight it gets for hours and hours every day, as I grow food in several grow stations with microclimates so vastly different even though they are only a stone’s throw away from each other) was full of butterflies. They couldn’t have come at a better time.

A classic seasonal custom in my circle, in my holistic peer groups and in my gardening networks is sun charged water, offered to the garden and to ourselves as a refreshing drink. Solarized water is a common ayurvedic tonic. Because it is so straightforward to make – leave the water in a jug, in a bottle or in a generous glass for a few hours in the sunlight, and it is ready for consumption, but drink it before sunset – I suggest that you try it out. Some people like to add flowers, herbs, citrus slices, even gemstones to their sun water and experiment with the colours of the glass vessel. Whatever appeals to you, try and taste it for yourself. I pour my water into a large clear glass on most days. I switch it up a bit at times.

Never use plastic containers for your water. Do not use ice. (You can drink it with ice, of course, but it is no longer solar water.)

I have been drinking solar water since I was a kid, long before I had any clues that it was healthy and that adults and knowledgeable people did it, too. The combination of sun and water piqued my senses in a momentous way. I am still the same: water and the sun fascinate me.

Once I learned that sun charged water was a curative panacea, I kept giving my water long sun baths in the warm months. I am not sure that I was trying to bring more sunlight into my body, but the sun water tasted so refreshing that I looked forward to rewarding myself with it in the afternoons. There is something about water sparkling in the sun light that gives me life!

The water that I kept on my window sill in the cold months did not quite have the same pure taste and the same pick-me-up effect. I wrote that off to my imagination and my summer and sun preference.

Later I learned about the many ways ancient cultures related to water and that water was held in high esteem, as a precious, essential element on whose good side they wanted to be on. These relationships went beyond some basic and utilitarian dependence on water; they were often moving, poetic and wholesome, and I felt that that consciousness was a lot more sophisticated and more sensitive than our contemporary oblivion about so many things regarding our water planet.

I want to say thanks to this opportunity to gather again and to all the practices that have turned out beneficial to us. It is a blessing to make sense of our lives, to bring order into our experiences, to beautify our environments, to draw out the wisdom and the keepsakes from our memories and to communicate with those interested in what we have gathered so far. We do not always understand what we know until we witness contrast and that what people are struggling with is something we have already developed an approach for and that we can guide and befriend more people than we expected.

Let me say thanks to receptivity, teachability and the process of integrating knowledge.

Our cultures take for granted that we leave the familiar in order to learn about a field of knowledge that noone nearby can teach us enough about and that we want to become proficient in. What is still unusual is to devote time to learning about emotional, psychological and social intelligence and how to apply such foundational life skills in our lives. On the surface, it seems weird that we have to distance ourselves from our human habitat in order to develop as human beings. But we don’t necessarily have experts and models of success in every area of life in our own scene, subculture and neighbourhood. This is why it is key to seek out people who have mastered family, marriage, parenthood and loving conduct. And approach them to mentor us.

Our circles may not have a record of wisdom and of durable, happy bonds. Honesty demands from us that we accept these deficits and that we search, knock on doors, find those who have the know-how and a history that we aspire to and allow them to instruct us. In the absence of mentors, there is literature. There is literature about every topic and every type of research, including subject matters that baffle us.

For the benefit of all who practise reiki, please choose your educators and your education with care. There is enough messaging that you that you can not have what you desire (because the messengers declined to obtain what they desired and had no insight that what they envisioned was utterly possible and that they had to ask and let themselves be taught). While some of these naysayers may live in your comfort zone or on your street, it is self-respecting to start learning and stretching and to give yourself a chance. This is an age of self-responsibility. If we rise to the occasion, we paint our future with the colours, the flavours and the scents that we like, and with the energy of our courage, and we enable both our evolution and our contentment. The butterflies I encountered in my garden this morning confirmed to me that metamorphosis is not only inevitable, the outcome of it is enchanting, useful to the ecosystem and very worthwhile.

On this summer solstice, you can participate again in the World Peace and Prayer Day from your own turf. There are many high-vibrational festivals on the planet that welcome the season that you can vibe with and visit. Meditating and anticipatory joy before festive events like these can expand your ability to appreciate and stay in the heart and be present for experiences that make life wonderful.

In loving kindness, I bow in gassho, I humbly receive.
