Mike Patton celebrates his birthday today.
Among all the concerts I have been to when I was coming of age, he remains in my memory as a performer of very high energy and cuteness. Most girls I knew had a crush on him. It was easy to succumb to his charm: while with Faith No More, the frontman was so much fun, while also being incredibly gifted.
In the decades that followed, Mike Patton experimented with several genres and established himself as an amazing, though always surprising, singer. It seems that age only made him better, bolder and more refined. As of now, he is the singer with the widest known vocal range, which is 6 octaves.
I especially like Mondo Cane – where he sings in Italian. Enjoy the concert today.
