Earth Send On 30 June 2023

Welcome to our first Earth Send after our 18th anniversary. (It was last Sunday.) Welcome to our meditative exploration of, and focus on, the well-being of all life on Earth. Welcome to summer abundance. Welcome, permanent members, occasional participants, new members, lurkers, welcome everyone!

I want to remind you all that feedback about our healing is welcome. It provides information about how we can support you better, and it closes the circle of gratitude and receiving.

All participants are being bathed in reiki today. May it be useful to your recovery, transformation, creativity, repair of relationships, attraction of a life partner, a peer group and desired community, of mentors and teachers who can instruct you how to improve your life condition. May it add to your quality of life.

Our good thoughts and warm support are going out to all who asked for spiritual assistance.

Reiki is going out to all requesters on the group list and to all requesters on our own reiki lists.

Let us acknowledge the land we live and grow food on. In its past, it was managed and cherished by people of great naturalistic intelligence, first by the indigenous populations and later by gatherers and growers, some indigenous, some not, who respected the soil and made the land thrive. Maybe you are their continuation, by bloodline or by telepathic connection. After you, there will be people who will continue your regenerative techniques and the lineage.

The forest fires in my corner of the earth have not been extinguished as of now. The smog has not lifted. The sun did make an appearance. Since Thursday, the burnt smell in the air has subsided. With your good thoughts, we can put this situation behind us.

I took the opportunity to put all my young plants and propagations into the soil that they will keep growing in. There was no risk of sunburn to the roots and to other delicate parts of the plants. The sun was barely visible in the smog. Right after I transplanted, we got a few days of heavy rain. I was grateful for this minor advantage in the ubiquitous wildfire crisis. Well, you know, it counts, my garden, to me and my region.

If you are in the process of expanding your social circle and have recently moved to a new location (some of you have!), do get in touch with your local on-site networks.

The digital experience can be positive, though in many ways, it is limiting and impersonal. People protect their privacy, their kids and kin and what they value when online — signs of sound judgment. I am not being critical of people who show much of their private lives online now. I simply witnessed enough. I am aware of the dark, predatory and crushing aspects of the internet. I concluded that what I get in the real world is more useful and more benign than the hodgepodge of energies online.

(At this point, let me acknowledge the efficient spam filter at WordPress. Great work identifying posts without merit. Thanks!)

Many of your local networks are designed for the frugally minded and cater to your personal priorities and interests and to your healing journeys and liberation from poor habits, pain and preoccupations that sabotage you.

Many of the anonymous groups (Anon) are low cost to no cost.

Creativity groups draw out the spark in you. A community of creatives is a gift to yourself that is priceless. Pursue, pursue, pursue, until you find your tribe!

There are workshops about zero waste, home decluttering, wise money management, upcycling, a no/low spend year. There are native seed saving and plant swaps, foraging groups, public speaking meet-ups, parenting classes, care-giver support, dating courses, and so on.

Check your regional Eventbrite, flyers in places where you shop, socialize and meditate. Ask for recommendations. Then, go there and connect.

Tomorrow is Canada Day, a big event in our country in all provinces.

On Sunday, it is 2 July, the mid year of 2023. It is a perfect day to check in with your goals for the year, how much you have already manifested, how much pluck you have shown by moving in the right direction. Let me think that you have set an intention for the year that was for your benefit and gratification and not something that you wanted to prove or had to defend to anyone. Please acknowledge every piece of your progress, even micro progress, and all the positive perks that you have gathered so far. Also reexamine if you want to tweak your goal/year’s theme in order make it more attainable, realistic, observable and boundaried. The SMART acronym stands for specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound. It is good to finetune huge dreams and overly cautious goals to SMART principles, so that you notice when you have completed your project and have something to celebrate.

Let us give thanks to a life that offers occasions to commit to interests beyond survival. A lot of people do not have that privilege.

I know that purpose, joy and vitality can be found in pure survival, too.

In fact, many men fulfil their need to be needed by taking care of basic needs – for their families and offspring and community. Men discover self-esteem, personal power, vim and vigor when they serve people and not their ego alone.

When I was a teenager, my father taught me that it was key for a man to have a field where he applies himself and can fully express his ambition. I was too young, and too subcultural, to comprehend that healthy men find meaning in being rewarded for their actions.

Women, even driven women, are wired in a different way. Women find fulfillment in being loved and in having more to be grateful for.

It is impossible to paint 7 billion people with the same brush. But look deeply, and you can detect a few patterns. I have enough lived experience under my belt to know that my father shared something universal, time-proven and useful to all who have sons, spouses and men in our lives.

Not being a man, I noticed how my burnouts came about. I had to open myself to balance, decompression and self-restoration. Looking back on my journey, I discovered resources without and within me that I had no clue I had access to, or that such things even existed. I had a lot to overcome. More so than you hear me talk about and more than people notice about me. I never fell apart. I credit meditation and my reiki practice of 28 years (I observed 28 years of reiki last Sunday!) and subtle protectors for my fortitude, my ability to recover, my ability to move on and my constructive mindset. I can say: meditation works; inner work is rewarding; energy can be found in silence, in renewal, in living kinder to earth, to animals, plants, waters, your chosen circle and yourself.

May this chapter in your life turn out beautiful. May you enter a time of utter well-being, savour what you have been given and increase your attention to everything that makes your life worth living.

There is plenty of crazy stuff happening in our time. Direct your mind to what is important. Give it more spotlight. Train your mind to spot happy news. Observe generous and loving behaviour. Take delight in genius, inspiration and models of goodness, virtue, decency and good will.

Detach a bit from crisis orientation that keeps you on edge and from people who never bring you good news.

We may think that we “need to” become immune to what is going on “outside”. This expectation and this “should” are not practical. Numbing yourself is not a solution.

Put a bit of distance between what and who pulls you down. Move closer to what and who picks you up. OM!

In gassho, I humbly receive.

  1. Nanda, I’m so grateful for your sharings. The reminders to be kind, not knowing the lives others have or are living but kept from view, is truth. There is much pain and struggle in our world but there is goodness and joy too. I’m glad you planted in the midst of the fires and smoke… a true sign of hope ahead. Your sharings leave me with various feelings… awareness, gratitude, love, reality and moving forward with positive thoughts and purpose, among others.
If this is where I may ask for Reiki and spiritual help, I would like to ask that positive, hopeful, loving and generous support remain between my husband, Joe and me as we work our way through the struggle with his Alzheimer’s Disease progressing and my being tested for Parkinson’s Disease with strength, courage and love. Thank you, Nanda, and may you be fully healed of any traumas that led you to your path of love and giving. You, your gifts uplift me. ❤️ Happy Reiki Anniversary and Happy Canada Day!
